are almost behind us. I'm never quite ready to let summer slip away. Lazy mornings sleeping in, afternoons swimming at the pool and spending time with family and friends. Mostly, I enjoy having my children to myself.
Although we had a wonderful three months, they were excited to greet their classmates and teachers this week and begin a new school year... as am I.
My son asked if I would attend college on Monday as it's my birthday. He had hopes of playing hookey and spending the entire day having fun. Something we do on their birthdays. As wonderful as that sounds, not this time, my love.
I, too, am filled with excitement to begin the Architecture, Interior Design and Textile courses I am enrolled in this fall. I have a passion for interior design, architecture and art, and being a lifelong learner.
Let's raise a champagne coupe to say au revoir to summer. I must admit, I feel happiness when I think of the scent of autumn, soft cashmere and making s'mores on the patio.
Wishing you a beautiful weekend! xoxo, B
Architecture, Interior Design and Textile - how wonderful.. can't wait to read your posts about your class projects. Happy Saturday..HHL
ReplyDeleteOh Brenda, this was a GORGEOUS POST and beautiful farewell to a magnificent season of fun and inspiration. My students come back to school after labor day, but this coming Thursday I go back to prepare my classroom and have inservice meetings. What a great summer it was to just take each day slowly; this was my first summer NOT taking any courses for my masters (DONE!) nor did I teach any courses, nor did I tutor...I just stayed home, got into my art work, music and writing. Ahhhhh.....you need some time to yourself, don't you? I WANT TO WISH YOU THE HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY DEAREST, and may the joy that your kids give you last a lifetime....soooo good to see you!!!
ReplyDeleteBises, Anita

Such a beautiful post and good luck with your studies ... I am also in the last subject of my 3 year interior design course via correspondence from England. I know summer is ending for you all there but here in Australia our spring is just around the corner. Spring is always beautiful and not too hot but summer especially in Queensland can be scorchers. Have a lovely Sunday

Bonjour mon amie precieuse!!! Oh, thank you for coming to visit and leaving me such a sweet message! Well, our addition is definitely set, but not until OCTOBER! Our builder is still finishing up a job nearby, but it amazes me that even in the cold weather, they can work! I really do hope that it happens before the ground freezes, but they apparently CAN DO IT!!! My husband and I are chomping at the bit, so to speak, because our house is getting tight with all the furniture that is coming. My sweet husband is equally excited as I am and ordered some furniture, but one sofa is already set to be delivered! We are strategizing as to where we are going to put all this!!! AND, yes, I have contributed an article to Belle Inspiration, and i was just asked yesterday to be a regular writer!!! YIKES! This will be my first writing assignment as a "freelance" writer. I am thrilled.
ReplyDeleteWell, you are going to be extremely busy with the kids getting back to school. I too return this Thursday to the classroom to prepare for my students who start the first week of September. WOOOOOO, I need to get used to the schedule all over again!!!
Have a lovely Sunday my dear friend and partner in FRENCH DéCOR and FUN!!!!

oh Brenda what a whimsical farewell to my most favorite of seasons...and yes I love the Fall colors, the warm hug that a September sun on your back can give...but I just know that the rain is coming.
ReplyDelete...but your parents lake house, now that sounds like a little bit of heaven...glad you had a bit of respite before YOUR classes start. OK, I would totally love to take a few classes!!! Someday when the shop is not front and center in my life, this is what I will do.
Until then I shall live vicariously through you my dear...HAVE SO MUCH FUN!...love Rosie
Gorgeous photos and a thousand congratulations on starting your new class...it sounds wonderful! I have been a student for so long and now that I'm not I feel such a nostalgia for that wonderful feeling of receiving the syllabus of a really great class and that sense of excitement and anticipation. Have a fantastic semester!
