Underpinnings ~ Part Deux

Tucked into a courtyard on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, stands Fifi Chachnil.  The intimate boutique evokes the ambiance that one is entering a glamorous boudoir. Essentially, you are.

Fifi began her career as a singer but became best known for her costume designs and coquettish, feminine lingerie ~ a mix of glamour meets fifties pin-up.  Beginning in 1981 in a fashion show in Egypt and creating costumes for a stage show, it wasn't until 1996 that she began designing lingerie.  Her designs include clothing, beachwear, footwear, perfume and lingerie.

Fifi's designs depict a fantastical air of costumery as seen in her ruffled can-can petticoat.  She won the "Femme en Or 2001" trophy in the fashion category.  Fifi has worked as a stylist with Pierre et Gille, and created stage outfits for singers Lio and Niagarra.

Babyloo and Tralala boudoir slippers

Fifi was commissioned to create costumes for specific Tableaux ~ La Crise and Infrarouge, as well as new uniforms for the Crazy Mistresses whom meet and greet the public at the legendary Crazy Horse.  I could go on about the Crazy Horse!  That, too, is planned for a future post!
Many of Chachnil's designs were created for short films and videos.

Upon entering, my husband quickly spotted the pink tufted chair and perched himself in it for the duration.  He knows me all too well and knew this was not going to be a quick visit.  We were promptly greeted by a lovely french woman, Celine.
How I wish I would have purchased the black lace Babyloo in the store window!

I purchased this set at the boutique ♥

Chachnil's pink and gold bijou boutique with charmeuse curtains, plush seating, exquisite furniture makes you feel like you want to spend the afternoon here ~ and may never want to leave.

My wonderful husband and Celine ~ I love that she wears the Tralala slippers in the boutique!

While the prices are not for the faint at heart, Chachnil has a line at Topshop with half the price tag.

My experience was nothing short of spectacular!  I believe this to be the best shopping experience I had in Paris.

Au Revoir!  xoxo, B

  1. Thank you so very much for introducing me to this name. I feel sad that I did not know about this boutique while I was still in Paris. It sounds like place where I would spent countless hours and countless money :-)I am wondering if FiFi has an online web site, perhaps? Wishing you the most beautiful weekend filled with joy :-)

  4. This store looks amazing. Did you try their fragrance? I have before and it is so decadent! I recall it came in such a feminine bottle and was so pretty.

  6. Merci!
Fifi does have a website and a new boutique in London, her only boutique outside of Paris. The website lists various boutiques where her line is sold. You can also purchase online. However, I'm unsure where they will mail to.
Celine told me should would mail outside of Paris ~ celineb@fifichachnil.com She is very sweet and most helpful.

The fragrance is delightful! Although I prefer the extract, it's the old fashioned pump bottle that I like best.

So true, Fifi's boutique does make you feel glamorous the moment you step inside.
Oh, how I would love to own the pink Tralala slippers ~ they're on my ever-growing wishlist.
I doubt I would take them off unless I leave my home. It may sound strange, but I feel most comfortable when I wear high heels, the higher the better.
