Lavender Dreams, Plus a Giveaway

I hope your weekend is off to a great start!  My daughter and I recently visited a lavender farm near our home... a wonderful day to spend a lovely afternoon.  The little shoppe has so many pretty things but we decided that it was culinary lavender and bath products that we liked best.  We purchased two of everything ~ the second to share.

Lavender Syrup ~ Perfect for drizzling over pancakes, scones, french toast, or ice cream... or anything else you can dream of

 Lavender Crème Brûlée ~ this is always a hit!

For the giveaway ~
cocktail napkins, sachet, culinary lavender, and a shower steamer

Couture Cocktails

Provence Lavender Cocktail

1 1/2 ounces gin
3/4 ounce dry vermouth
1/2 ounce Cointreau liqueur
2 teaspoons lavender syrup
lemon twist, for garnish
1 sprig of fresh lavender, for garnish
ice, to serve
* Combine all ingredients {except garnish}, into a mixing glass
* Add ice and stir
* Strain into a chilled tall glass, and garnish with a citrus twist and sprig of fresh lavender

Lavender cordial syrup:

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup fresh organic edible lavender flowers (or 2 tablespoons dried lavender flowers)
juice of 1 small fresh lemon

* Heat sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar completely.
* Bring to a boil, remove from heat
* Add edible flowers
* Cover, let steep 35-40 minutes
* Strain through a fine mesh sieve or paper coffee filter into a measuring glass {one with a lip for easy pouring}
* Add lemon juice
* Pour into a clean container {preferably sterilized}, cap, and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
* Stir a spoonful of Lavender Syrup into your favorite beverage! It's delicious in lemonade or tea

** I created a twist to my favourite cocktail ~ the French 75.  I added an ounce of lavender syrup and it was divine!

Wishing you a most beautiful June weekend!
