Happy Monday, mon amis! I hope you had a lovely 4th of July weekend, if your in the US, and a beautiful weekend for everyone else. We enjoyed a weekend full of firework displays, BBQ's, and time spent with family and friends.
This wonderful home is designed by Jamie Blake of Blake Interiors and is located in the outskirts of London. I am taken with the relaxed design that focuses most on the small, but grand, details.
The kitchen is the heart of this home. Over the years I've become a big fan of reclaimed wood cabinets and have been considering them in my home. The whitewashed floors, carrara marble countertops and backsplash, charcoal upper cabinets anchor the design, but it's the faucet and lighting that adds the most personality.
I'm smitten with the subway tile of the interior of the glass cabinets. A wonderful detail...
The kitchen's extends to the outdoors, providing the feel of outdoor dining throughout the year. The custom roller shades can easily be rolled up for less sunny days. I love the window seats surrounding the dining area. All of the extra seating proves this room is the heart of home.
This small garden is a clever idea! I love cooking with fresh herbs and this is perfect.
A pair of vintage industrial lights provides lighting above the oven.
More vintage lights hang over the dining table and custom cabinetry conceal the refrigerator and provide storage.
The same charcoal grey and white cover the custom cabinetry in the library.
The living room features neutral furnishings and the light walls are a contrast to the library's dark palette.
The master bedroom is designed with a custom headboard that rests against a white washed reclaimed wood paneled wall. The wood floors have also been lightened to complement the wall.
More custom paneling appears behind the claw foot bathtub in the master bath.
The vintage basin on the opposite wall in the master bath is a perfect fit.
The shower wall provides extra storage in the bath. Again, we see the subway tile from the kitchen and white-washed floors.
What are your thoughts on this home?

I hope your week is off to a perfect start!

I am surprised this home is in the UK (being a Brit myself). It looks more like a beautiful Hampton beach house with all that gorgeous white wood.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a Hampton beach house rather than one in England. I must admit how nontraditional it is!
DeleteI agree, Vanessa. It does look a Hampton beach home; however, I love the designer's and owners take on nontraditional decor.
